Description of the Flag

The flag of P.N.T. is based on the DRET flag, defaced with a bicolor narrow horizontal stripe along the center of the red area, green over white, and the letters "PNT" arranged around the star, this time pointing upwards.

The Party Statues hosted at the official party website (as reported by Jan Patrick Fischer) says, in my translation to English, leaving out some of the larger lumps of verbosity:

Art. 4th: Symbol

1. The party symbol is its flag, which congregates the colors of Timorese nationalism, of the bratherhood with the peoples of Portugal and Indonesia (red/green and red/white), and of the brotherly solidarity with the peoples of the world, symbolized by the white five-pointed star.

2. The height of the flag at the hoist is the base of two symmetrical superimposed triangles, yellow and black, being the height of the yellow triangle is half the width of the flag and the height of the black triangle is one third of it. The rest of the flag is taken by on the top and bottom by two symmetrical red stripes, each of three eighths of the flag’s height high. Between these two, a green stripe on the upper part with height of one eighth of the flag’s height and, on the lower part, a white stripe on the upper part with height of one eighth of the flag’s height. On the center of the black triangle a star with the letters "PNT" on each of its three »upper« points

The flag indeed combines the RDTL flag design (current national flag of East Timor), the Indonesian mera putih and the Portuguese verde e rubra.
